Privacy, Media, & Terms of Service Policy

General Disclaimer:

Users of this site, the PTEC Google group, and other PTEC resources (hereinafter referred to as resources) must commit to adherence to the PTEC Privacy, Media, & Terms of Service Policy.

 

Privacy:

PTEC is committed to protecting privacy. If a person becomes a member of PTEC, renews membership, purchases conference registration, or engages in any form of interactive social media associated with PTEC (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Google group, or other medium), PTEC will collect personal information including, but not limited to name, address, email address, phone number, fax number, credit/debit card information, company, title, and photographs. Additionally, when existing demographic information in our database is incorrect or incomplete, that information will be updated as necessary.

PTEC may statistically aggregate in non-person-specific information collected from such resources. Such aggregated non-person-specific information may be used for quality control, operations management, security and marketing purposes and to enhance, develop or improve PTEC services and related products and services. By registering membership with PTEC, consent is given to this non-person-specific data aggregation and the use and transmission of this aggregated statistical data as outlined above.

Information received by PTEC will be maintained in a confidential and secure manner.  In appropriate circumstances, and upon request, PTEC may release personal information concerning a member as otherwise authorized by law or PTEC policies.

 

Social Medial:

PTEC will use social media to appeal to members and non-members by transmitting messages to interested audiences in real time. This policy applies to current social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, Google Groups, online polls/surveys, web forums, Wikipedia pages, message boards, emails, blogs, and future platforms yet to be developed.

Using social media platforms will allow PTEC to:

  • Engage in direct dialog with audiences
  • Communicate important application deadlines, changes, and procedures to technicians and educators
  • Obtain feedback from technicians working in the field through User Generated Content (UGC)
  • Communicate key positions to wider audiences and stakeholders
  • Promote approved events and CPE opportunities related to the profession and practice of pharmacy as well as the profession and practice of education

 

Use of PTEC Resources:

Harassment in any manner or form in, on, or through PTREC resources, including via e-mail, chat, or by use of obscene or abusive language is strictly forbidden. Impersonation of others, including employees, the Board of Directors, regulatory bodies, other professional affiliates or associations, as well as other members or visitors is prohibited. You may not upload to, distribute, or otherwise publish any content which is libelous, defamatory, obscene, threatening, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, illegal, unauthorized (including advertisements or promotion of non-PTEC related activities, events, and/or resources), or otherwise objectionable which may constitute or encourage a criminal offense, violate the rights of any party or which may otherwise give rise to liability or violate any law. You may not upload commercial content or use PTEC resources to solicit others to join, become members, or participate in any other commercial service, organization, and/or event. Unauthorized use of resources will result in disciplinary sanction, up to and including removal of the content, deactivation/banning of user accounts, and/or banning of the person from access to any and all resources and the organization.

 

Participation Disclaimer:

PTEC does not and cannot review all communications and materials posted to or created by users accessing PTEC resources, and is not in any manner responsible for the content of these communications and materials. You acknowledge that by providing you with the ability to view and distribute content, PTEC is merely acting as a passive conduit for such distribution and is not undertaking any obligation or liability relating to any contents or activities. PTEC reserves the right to review, approve, block, or remove communications or materials that it determines to be (a) abusive, defamatory, or obscene, (b) fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading, (c) in violation of a copyright, trademark or other intellectual property right of another, or (d) offensive or otherwise unacceptable to PTEC in its sole discretion.

 

Third-Party Links:

In an attempt to provide increased value to our visitors, PTEC may link to resources operated by third parties. However, regardless of whether the third party is affiliated with PTEC, PTEC has no control over these linked resources, all of which have separate privacy and data collection practices. These linked resources are for your convenience and therefore you access them at your own risk. Nonetheless, PTEC seeks to protect the integrity of its resources and the links placed upon it and therefore requests any feedback on not only its own resources, but for sites it links to as well.

For any questions or concerns concerning this policy, please write to webmaster@pharmacytecheducators.com.

Those interested in promoting other organizations, events, resources, campaigns, goods, services, etc., must do in writing to board@pharmacytecheducators.com. Written requests must be submitted for consideration to the BOARD at least 14 business days prior to the start of the proposed campaign. Submission of a request does not guarantee approval. Permission is granted on a case-by-case basis and is only granted for the requested campaign as approved by the BOARD. Permanent, long-standing, or blanket authorization will not be granted. Fees may apply. Unauthorized advertisement, promotion, etc., will result in disciplinary sanction as described in this policy.
