Special Announcement: PTEC & PTCB
We are thrilled to update you, our members, with an exciting announcement about the future of pharmacy technician education. As we see the role of pharmacy technicians continue to expand, the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and the Pharmacy Technician Educators Council (PTEC) have taken steps to join forces to serve pharmacy technician educators across the country better and advance our shared vision for improved patient and medication safety.
In moving forward together, we anticipate PTEC uniting with PTCB and integrating into PTCB’s organizational structure. We hope that you, our members, will agree with what we’ve learned: that by uniting, PTCB and PTEC are further investing in the profession's future and the quality of care by leveraging meaningful relationships, critical insights, and operational capabilities. This integration will increase the value of a PTEC membership with the added benefits of PTCB’s resources and infrastructure.
We know you may have additional questions about how this will affect you as a PTEC member. We invite you to submit questions and comments using the Google Form that was emailed to you by November 4, 2022 so we can discuss them together at our Town Hall on November 9, 2022.
We are excited about the future for PTEC and the chance to join PTCB in supporting pharmacy technician educators, empowering technicians to advance their careers, and elevating technicians' vital role in pharmacy and healthcare.
